For nearly 20 years Matt has taught students in every imaginable situation, age group, level of experience, as well as health compromised and physically differently-abled students. He is eager to share his love of music and guitar playing with students and to see them grow and develop, reaching their own artistic goals.

In addition to maintaining an in-person and online-based private lesson studio, Matt Davis currently serves as Adjunct Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Guitar Department at UArts, in Philadelphia. Previous appointments have included, among others, the Manhattan School of Music PreCollege Program, University of Pennsylvania, and New York Pops Education, where for many years he taught and shared music with pediatric cancer patients at the Ronald McDonald House.

Matt has taught masterclasses on a variety of musical and guitar related subjects such as advanced harmony, sight reading for the guitar, composition, walking bass-lines with chords in the style of Joe Pass, and advanced rhythm studies, among others. He has taught workshops across the US, South Korea, China, and the greater Mexico City region.
